The USGS Cascades Volcano Observatory is looking forward to hosting the PANGA meeting on January 30-31 at our brand new facility in southeast Vancouver. Officially we moved in on January 14, but we're still learning our way around the building and chaos reigns. I've been assured that there will be a conference room available with all of the essentials (chairs, table, projectors and screen, coffee, donuts, and cookies) by the time of the meeting.
Those planning to stay at the Phoenix Inn should make reservations ASAP (360-891-9777). Mention USGS to get the government rate ($55/night for a single, $60/night for a double). The motel is within easy walking distance of restaurants and only 5-10 minutes by car from CVO.
FROM THE PORTLAND AIRPORT: Follow the signs to I-205 North and proceed north toward Vancouver. Immediately after crossing the Columbia River, exit on Highway 14 East toward Camus. Exit Highway 14 at 164th Ave. and turn left (north). Proceed northbound approximately 1 mile to a traffic light at SE Tech Center Drive (Taco Bell on the left). Turn right on SE Tech Center Drive. Continue straight past one STOP sign before turning right at Sequoia Circle (between two ponds with waterfalls). Take the first right onto Cardinal Court and follow it to the new brick-faced building at the end of the cul de sac on the right. A small sign on the front door says Suite 100. Ask someone in the lobby for directions to the conference room. By then we should have found it.
FROM DOWNTOWN PORTLAND: Take I-5 southbound across the river to Highway 14 East, then follow the directions above.
FROM THE PHOENIX INN: Take SE 2nd Circle out the main drag (Mill Plain Blvd.). Turn left on Mill Plain and proceed eastbound to 164nd Avenue.
